Course overview
This online course gives learners practical knowledge to recognise the early signs of excessive workplace stress and burnout before they affect wellbeing, performance or the quality of care. It explains how workplace demands, organisational factors and personal pressures contribute to burnout, and explores approaches to prevention and recovery. It is particularly relevant in healthcare, social care and other demanding working environments. The course takes approximately one hour and is CPD accredited.

Is this training a legal requirement?
Stress and burnout training is not specifically required by UK law. However, employers have legal duties to protect the health, safety and welfare of employees under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974. The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 require employers to assess workplace risks, including those that may affect employees’ health and wellbeing, and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) provides Management Standards for work-related stress to help organisations identify and control stress risks. Many organisations recommend refresher training every one to three years, or sooner if responsibilities or risks change.

Assessment and certificate
Learners complete an online multiple-choice test. After successfully completing the assessment, they can download a CPD-accredited digital certificate straight away. The course is delivered online with instant access, so it can be studied on a phone, tablet or computer at the learner’s own pace.
